If there is one time that motorists won’t mind getting their hands dirty is when they fix their bikes. Hence, with Mumbai-based Garage 52 coming to The Farm OMR to conduct a bike workshop for the first time in the city, bikers of all ages (above 16) are expected to sign up.

The agenda for the two-day event includes everything from basic welding to repairing engines and everything in between. Called Wrenching 101, the series of workshops by Garage 52 enjoys quite a reputation in Mumbai, as they are conducted by people like Mario of Mario’s Garage, who has been working on bikes for the past 35 years. He is accompanied by Joshua Crasto, who tests bikes and cars, flies planes and builds motorcycles from bare minimum.

The basic motive of the workshop is to teach you how to keep your bike healthy, despite daily commutes, and make it ready for long road trips. Over the two days, the topics touched upon will cover cables, engine repair, fixing brakes and punctures, checking electricals, metal fabrications and cheat sheets for immediate fixes on the go.

“This workshop will encourage the DIY culture among bikers in the city. Among the bikes, much of which have been arranged by The Farm, we will also have models of Royal Enfield, KTM and Pulsar in the line-up,” says Joshua, adding that more workshops are in the pipeline. Proper safety equipment will be also be provided at the workshop, we learn.

With like-minded bikers and your favourite machine for company, your weekend is set for one hell of a ride! August 5-6. 11 am onwards. Rs. 1,500 per head. Details: shop.jcmoto.in
