Update: Mahindra has revised the Scorpio & given it a boost

The Mahindra Scorpio has been around since 2002, however regular product updates have ensured that it remains one of the bestsellers in the market. The robust SUV has recently been given a boost in power and has received a few tweaks to its design as well.

The 2.2-litre mHawk engine that powers the vehicle is now being offered with a higher state of tune in the top S7 and S11 variants. With the boost in power, the engine now delivers 140 bhp and 320 Nm of torque which is a substantial increase over the 120 bhp that the top variants offered earlier. It also boasts of a new easy shift six-speed manual gearbox and 4x4 on the fly is an option in the top variant.

Tweaks to the design include a new front grille with chrome inserts, ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, LED tail lamps, a redesigned footstep and rear bumper, a new skid plate, new alloys, and new look air extractors. The cabin remains unchanged in terms of layout, however, to add a more upmarket feel, the automobile gets faux leather seats and steering wheel wrap, bigger cubby holes, and a new mobile phone holder slot.

The new Scorpio also comes packed with a host of advanced features such as a reverse parking camera, one-touch lane change indicator, GPS navigation in 10 languages, steering mounted audio plus cruise controls, a 6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, tyre-tronics, rain/light sensors, and a voice assist system.

`14 lakh onwards.
