After all the hype over the last two weeks, Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor finally tied the knot with beau Anand Ahuja at a ceremony in Mumbai's Bandra locality on May 8. The fashionista looked stunning in a red lehenga with a matching blouse, designed by Anuradha Vakil in a complete Punjabi ensemble. Her husband Anand Ahuja, on the other hand, looked dapper in Raghavendra Rathore's creation, a beige sherwani. He paired it along with a beige and cream 'saafa' along with ruby and pearl strings.
While Sonam Kapoor's hands were a deep maroon colour from all the henna, she had chooda and kaleere on her wrists along with a statement maatha-patti. The attire was grand were the makeup was subtle making it an all-new look for her in general and as especially at her wedding. The fashionista is usually known to have bolder looks but this has certainly helped set wedding wear goals because she looks perfect. The wedding was a private affair with only close family and friends from the industry visiting the house for the occasion. Sonam's father Anil Kapoor and brother Harshvardhan looked stylish in sherwanis while Arjun Kapoor was spotted in ethnic designer wear.
While the media only got to see the bride after the photo was released, pictures from the ceremony have already been circulating the internet since Tuesday morning. A video of Sonam Kapoor walking down the aisle while she was accompanied by her brothers Harshvardhan Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor is also doing the rounds.
Bollywood celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Karan Johar, Boney Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan with Taimur were also spotted at the wedding. Rani Mukerji, Swara Bhasker and Jacqueline Fernandez were among others at the wedding.
While Sonam Kapoor is known for acting in several films over the last few years, she has cultivated a name for herself in the fashion industry and is widely regarded as a fashionista, always keeping her style in check with the latest trends in the industry. However, she has received recognition in the form of a special recognition at the National Film Awards for her performance in Neerja.
