Alex Gardega, a New York City-based artist and teacher, placed his own creation, a pissing pug on May 29, beside the Fearless Girl statue on Wall Street after claiming that the statue of the girl was placed opposite to  Arturo Di Modica's (an Italian artist) bull as a publicity stunt by a Boston-based company. Alex was reported saying, “I decided to build this dog and make it crappy to downgrade the statue, exactly how the girl is a downgrade on the bull,”

The fearless girl was insatalled on International Women's Day, depicting the increasing number of women in  State Street Global Advisors, the company that commissioned its installment. However, Alex was reported saying “It has nothing to do with feminism, and it is disrespect to the artist that made the bull, the bull had integrity."

However, this did not seem to go too well with the female passer-bys, one of who was reported saying “Fearless Girl has come to represent women taking on Wall Street — and just about anybody else standing up to financial firms — and that Gardega’s peeing dog is misogynistic."

The creator of the bull statue, reportedly refused to comment on Alex's pissing dog. However, he is suing the State Street Global Advisors, or trademark and copyright infringement.
