Suman Sridhar, singer-songwriter-actor performs in Mumbai on February 14th at the Finch with award-winning filmmaker and electronic musician Natasha Mendonca. The Live Electro duo called The Black Mamba presents ‘Love Bytes’, a Valentine’s exclusive performance of love songs, poetry and Retro Bollywood presented in the contemporary fashion that Suman Sridhar is renowned for- profound, irreverent, hilarious and stark - through a fusing of Afro-Indian grooves, storytelling, soulful synths, piano, orchestral arrangements, cascading operatic harmonies and electronic beats.
The performance explores the multiple meanings, inclusive expressions and ramifications of love, society’s notions, literature, poetry, cinema and popular culture’s obsession with this clichéd four-letter word that everybody loves to hear, and some even love to hate - LOVE.
Suman Sridhar is the “lilting voice, unmistakable” behind Bollywood hits such as Muskaane Jhooti Hain (Talaash) and Khoya Khoya Chand (Shaitan). Black Mamba, her forthcoming album had a world preview at the Tate Modern museum, London in 2017.
