Festival preview: ITC Sangeet Sammelan to celebrate 40 years of Research Academy in Kolkata
It’s that time of the year again when the city soaks in the melody of sarangi, table, sitar and gets mesmerised by soulful voices of artistes from across the country. Celebrating the 40th anniversary of ITC research Academy, the ITC Sangeet Sammelan will bring alive the academy’s lawns in Tollygunge with the finest repository of Hindustani Classical Music.
The three-day musical event will see a galaxy of eminent musicians that include Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma, Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar, Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty, Pandit Anindo Chatterjee, Pandit Kumar Bose, Pandit Uday Bhawalkar, Pandit ParthaChatterjee, Ustad Rashid Khan, Vidushi Subhra Guha, Vidushi Kaushiki Chakraborty and many more.
Starting from Feb 1, this year’s sammelan will also present young talent alongside stalwarts of Hindustani Classical Music. Also this year the ITC Sangeet Samman for 2019 will be presented to Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma for his valuable contribution.
