Banyan Tree is hosting music festival Barkha Ritu in Hyderabad

After a successful show in Bengaluru, music festival Barkha Ritu makes its way to the city, this weekend. The 19th edition of the annual event, organised by Mumbai-based Banyan Tree, will bring together musicians from all over the world. This time around, Hindustani Classical vocalist Sanjeev Abhyankar will collaborate with jazz artistes — Rakesh Chaurasia, S Shashank and Ben Van Den Dungen.

Sanjeev Abhyankar
The maestro from Mewati Gharana, Sanjeev is an artiste of international acclaim in Hindustani Classical and Indian devotional music. In a career spanning over 25 years, he has released notable indie albums and also composed for films. 

Rakesh Chaurasia
Rakesh Chaurasia, the child prodigy of flute maestro Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, has carved a niche for himself as an accomplished flautist. The Allahabad-born artiste is known for his soulful independent music. 

S Shashank
Shashank Subramanyam is a Grammy-nominated renowned exponent of bamboo flautist. He is the youngest recipient of the prestigious Sangeet Natak Akademi award. 

Ben Van Den Dungen
Dutch saxophonist Ben van den Dungen has been a professional musician since 1982 and has performed more than 5,500 concerts in 70 countries.
