If the trailer is anything to go by, then debutant director Vik's upcoming movie Buro Sadhu is going to be one nail-biting thriller. With none other than prolific actor Ritwick Chakraborty in the lead, this psychological thriller's plot traces the journey of a man from boyhood to adulthood and stars noted actor Chiranjeet Chakraborty, Ishaa Saha, Mishmi Das, Amit Das, Barun Chakraborty, Jay Badlani, Timir Biswas and Dolon Roy apart from Ritwick.

Produced by Abir Ghosh, Somnath Ghosh, DNA Networks and Wise Monk Creative, the film revolves around  Abir, the protagonist, played by Ritwick, who goes through a rough patch and gets addicted to alcohol. As addiction starts getting the better of him, he ends up with a deep-rooted psychological disorder bordering on schizophrenia with his disturbed relationships triggering symptoms of hallucination and delusion. However, he gets a second chance to rebuild his life and tries to turn things around this time by doing constructive work, but his disorder relapses.

What seems from the trailer is that as he tries to grapple with this seemingly never-ending crises and tries to win over them, his intoxication leads him to yet another precipice of life where he stands to lose everything including love. And the tale hangs therein.

The film conveys a strong message against alcoholism and intoxication that every millennial can relate to. The generic storyline addresses certain social issues that have been growing rapidly such as frustration, depression, anxiety, addiction, believing in myths like addiction enhances creativity and difficulty in maintaining relationships. The film depicts various layers of the human nature and emotions and one shall be overwhelmed by the end of it,” tells filmmaker Vik, who left behind a thriving career in marketing to follow his passion for cinema.

Ishaa Saha who had debuted in Projapoti Biskut is playing Sweta, Abir's love interest. "They’ve acted brilliantly to bring out the uncertainty of fate and destiny in life. Buro Sadhu touches several aspects of a layman’s life. It explores the emotions of love, friendship, betrayal, achievement and extremity. There is some dark humour too. Buro Sadhu tries to convey an important message against alcoholism and intoxication. Most of all, it has a twist that will jolt the audience," tells Vik.

The film is all set to release this October end.
