Olle Huduga Pratham attempted suicide on Facebook live video
Olle Huduga Pratham ('Good Boy Pratham' in Kannada) won the Kannada Bigg Boss' season three months ago. Last Tuesday, April 4th, Pratham said he was on his last Facebook interaction while trying to commit overdose suicide with sleeping pills. He hoped this act would make those who had criticized and insulted him or anyone on social media feel shameful.
He started the live video saying Lokesh, an amateur director had humiliated him on social media. Lokesh had filed a police complaint for being pushed around by Pratham, alleging he had been man-handled by him long before this public scandal.
“We all knew he did a lot of drama in the (Bigg Boss) house, but didn’t know he would stoop so low. Anyone who commits suicide, will not announce it to the whole world” said Niranjan Deshpande, Pratham's co-contestant at Bigg Boss. Bhuvan Ponanna, another Big Boss co-contestant said "Pratham will do anything for publicity, but I don't know if this act was also for publicity. If he is done this to gain attention, its wrong."
Akul Balaji explained it is difficult to deal with the failure that tends to follow overnight success, yet this is something anyone entering the show business should be ready for.
This suicide attempt has brought up a new dilema, the law that punished any individual who attempted to commit suicide to one year of jail was removed by the parliament last week, yet there has not yet been presidential approval. Therefore, Pratham could still be charged by this law.
