Sidharth Malhotra's status on Twitter two days ago had left everyone in surprise. The actor had tweeted "sorry I am done !" after which he removed his profile picture.
While we were still wondering what led him to do so, the actor is back on Twitter today. It turns out that it was only a promotional strategy for his upcoming movie Aiyaary.
Earlier today, actor Manoj Bajpayee tweeted to clear the doubts.
The tweet said: "Major jai bakshi!!as your commanding officer i order you to come bak.@S1dharthM #Aiyaary."
Right after Manoj's tweet, Sidharth returned to Twitter and reported to his mentor Colonel Abhay Singh i.e. Manoj Bajpayee.
Sidharth's tweeted said: "Major Jai Bakshi reporting for duty sir... Will try not to go rogue again. #Aiyaary @BajpayeeManoj."
It was a publicity stunt to promote their upcoming movie Aiyaary. Manoj Bajpayee is playing the role of Colonel Abhay Singh and Sidharth Malhotra will be seen as Major Jai Bakshi.
In the movie directed by Neeraj Pandey, the duo will be seen together for the first time on-screen and will be essaying the parts of a mentor and protege. Aiyaary also stars Pooja Chopra, Rakulpreet, Anupam Kher and Naseeruddin Shah.
Produced by Shital Bhatia, Dhaval Jayantilal Gada, Motion Picture Capital, the movie is slated for release on January 26.
