Kate Middleton, Prince William welcome third child and it's a boy!
Prince William and Kate Middleton welcomed their third child, a boy, on Monday, Kensington Palace announced.
“Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101hrs,” the statement said. “The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth.”
The duchess, the former Kate Middleton, gave birth at 11 a.m. local time at St. Mary's Hospital, Paddington, London.
“The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news,” the statement continued. “Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.”
Prince George, the first of the children, was at school when his little brother was born and Princess Charlotte, their second child was at home at Kensington Palace.
The name of the baby boy will be announced in due course, the palace said.
The royal couple's third child is fifth in line to the British throne, after grandfather Prince Charles, father Prince William and two siblings.
