Was told will have to sleep with director or producer, or both: National award-winning actress

The film industry is bubbling with controversies after several sides are opening up about casting couches and sexual harassment in the industry. After Saroj Khan made a shocking comment about casting couches being okay, many Bollywood actresses are coming forward to talk about the different kinds of favours they have been asked by directors and producers in the industry. National award winning actress Usha Jadhav on Wednesday revealed that one such powerful man in the industry asked her for sexual favours. 

The Marathi actress went on to state that she was told by the man that she was told to give something in return for the opportunity she was given. While she thought she had to pay them money, the man went on to say that it was about her having to sleep with maybe the producer or even the director, or it can even be both of them, it depends. 

The actress revealed the details in a BBC World News documentary on the subject where other actresses like Radhika Apte and another aspiring 25-year-old actress spoke about her encounters and how she was asked for sexual favours. Parched actress Radhika went on to state that some of the people are regarded as Gods and they are so powerful that people think their voice isn’t going to matter. She went on to add that the actresses also think that if they speak their career is probably going to get ruined.
