Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui who has so far played intense roles in all his films is stepping away from such characters to experiment with something new. The actor who has always played roles of a criminal, gangster or a cop has taken up a romantic-comedy titled Motichoor Chaknachoor.
He will be working with Gen X superstars like Varun Dhawan and Tiger Shroff. Nawaz will be seen opposite Italian actress Valentina Corti and Athiya Shetty in this romcom that will be actor Tannishtha Chatterjee's directorial debut.
A source close to this development said, "Nawazuddin has truly proved his versatility as an actor and manages to hold his own even within an ensemble starcast and opposite heavyweight superstars. Filmmakers are now queuing up to cast him in romantic and comedy roles, something that he is very excited to explore. He has managed to break out of the space that actors of his calibre are normally stereotyped in and is even being cast opposite young actresses."
