According to reports, British actor Idris Elba won’t be playing the iconic MI6 spy, James Bond, after Daniel Craig retires. The actor was reportedly attending the premiere of his directorial debut Yardie on Wednesday when a reporter asked him, “Are we talking to the next James Bond?”. He replied: “No.”

Speculation began when Idris made a play on the suave spy’s famous catchphrase “Bond, James Bond” and wrote on Twitter: “Elba, Idris Elba”. However, he later posted another tweet that said: “Don’t believe the hype’.

Yesterday, the official James Bond Twitter account announced Danny Boyle has resigned as director and said, “Michael G Wilson, Barbara Broccoli and Daniel Craig today announced that due to creative differences Danny Boyle has decided to no longer direct Bond 25.”

Currently, there is no word on who the team is officially looking at or if there will be any delay. Though, there are rumors that Mission: Impossible - Fallout director Christopher McQuarrie could be the a frontrunner.
