Aishwarya Rai honoured with First Ladies Award by the President

Aishwarya Rai was honoured by the President of India to have made the country proud by being the first woman achiever in her field.

Aishwarya Rai has always been one of the most influential personalities in Bollywood. After her presence in the industry for more than two decades, she still holds the same kind of charisma and is an inspiration to millions of her fans. 

The actress is one of the first few Bollywood representatives who was globally recognised.The global Icon of India and the first Indian actress to be a jury member at the Cannes Film Festival. In honour of her achievements, the Ministry of Women and Child Development of Government of India has added her to the list of 112 women achievers who have made the country proud by being the first women achievers of their respective fields.

The award titled " First Ladies" has recongised these ladies in and outside the country were awarded by the honorable President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind on 20th January at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, Delhi. 

Apart from Aishwarya, some of the other women on the list were Biocon’s Managing Director – Kiran Mazumdar, Shila Dawre – India’s first autorickshaw driver, Ayesha Aziz, the youngest pilot in India and the first female pilot from Kashmir and Ruveda Salam, a doctor and Kashmir’s first woman IPS officer.
