Neil Diamond retires after being diagnosed with Parkinson's

The Legendary musician has announced his retirement from touring due to his recent diagnosis of Parkinson's disease. Neil made the announcement on Monday in a press statement that said the onset of the disease has made large-scale touring difficult. 

"I have been so honored to bring my shows to the public for the past 50 years. My sincerest apologies to everyone who purchased tickets and were planning to come to the upcoming shows.

“I plan to remain active in writing, recording and other projects for a long time to come. My thanks goes out to my loyal and devoted audiences around the world. You will always have my appreciation for your support and encouragement. This ride has been ‘so good, so good, so good’ thanks to you.” he said. 

Diamond was ready to bring his 50th-anniversary tour to Australia and New Zealand but all the shows have been canceled and the refunds are being processed. The anniversary tour was supposed to feature his hit albums like Cherry, Cracklin Rosie and Song Sung Blue. The announcement on Monday in a press statement that said the onset of the disease has made large-scale touring difficult. 

Neil was about to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at this year's Grammy's on January 28th, after his 77th birthday.
