Want to earn same kind of love like mom, says Janhvi Kapoor ahead of Dhadak release
Janhvi said she feels like she has a responsibility towards the audience and she wants to make them happy with her performance.
Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor is all set to make her debut with Dhadak alongside Ishaan Khatter, however, she has said she isn’t feeling the weight of expectations. Instead, she is hoping to do as well as her mother Sridevi did before she passed away earlier this year.
According to media reports, Janhvi said she is hoping to get the same kind of love from the audience in the future as she starts with Dhadak. The film is a Hindi adaptation of 2016 Marathi film Sairat, which was based on casteism and starred Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar in the lead roles. Janhvi added that she feels like she has a responsibility towards the audience and she wants to make them happy with her performance. While she knows she has to earn it, she said she is definitely willing to work for it.
The 21-year-old actress said Sridevi never interfered with her acting process and instead wanted her to experience it on her own. In fact, Janhvi even told Sridevi that she doesn’t want her to come on set until she has fully completed what she is doing; after which, she can definitely see the final product. She also went on to say that being from a film background has helped her be more mature to understand how the film industry works.
Dhadak is set to release on July 20, and has been directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions.
