All I can do is realise my strength and play my game better, says Irrfan Khan on battling cancer
Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan a few months earlier had revealed that he had been diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer. While the actor is undergoing treatment for the sickness in the US, he spoke to a leading publication about how he is coping and among many aspects, Irrfan said he has learnt to deal with it and has understood what freedom truly means.
According to the note sent by him, Irrfan said that when he first got to know about it, it was literally like a new word in his vocabulary. Since the disease was rare and due to fewer study cases, he was part of a trial-and-error game. He went on to add that he was on a different game and was travelling on a speedy train ride but the sudden change made him realise how he is “just a cork floating in the ocean with UNPREDICTABLE currents and he is just trying to control it”. The actor also went on to reveal that on one of the hospital visits, he told his son, “The only thing I expect from ME is not to face this crisis in this present state. I desperately need my feet. Fear and panic should not overrule me and make me miserable.”
The actor who is currently busy with promotions for his upcoming film Karwaan said that the only thing certain to him through the hospital treatments was the certainty of uncertainty. He added that all he wanted was to play his game better and this realisation made him submit, surrender and trust, irrespective of the outcome; irrespective of where this takes me, eight months from now, or four months from now, or two years.
