Sonam Kapoor's sangeet lehenga took 18 months to make, reveal fashion designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla

With just one day to go for the wedding, Sonam Kapoor's designers on Monday revealed that it actually took 18 months to make the lehenga she wore at her mehendi on Sunday. The Bollywood fashionista who will be tying the knot with beau Anand Ahuja on Tuesday, May 8 wore a gold and silver top and lehenga that made her the star of her sangeet

The outfit designed by fashion duo Abu Jani and Saandeep Khosla said she had ordered for the attire over two years ago from them with proper instructions. They went on to say that it took multiple teams of artisans to make the perfectly beautiful golden top and lehenga which she wore two days before her wedding. Interestingly, the ivory lehenga is uniquely different and incorporates chikankari embroidery which was paired along with a golden top for the mehendi.

The designers shedding more light on the ensemble said that the beautifully gorgeous outfit has been infused with Swarovski crystals, zari and zardosi in gold and silver shades. Interestingly, her husband-to-be, Anand Ahuja also chose a chose a chikankari kurta for the occasion from the same designers.
