Delhi Police on Monday filed a chargesheet and named her husband and Congress MP Shashi Tharoor as an accused in the case of her mysterious death. The Congress MP has been charged with abetment to suicide, four years after her death in The Leela in New Delhi.

Shashi Tharoor has called the chargesheet preposterous and said he will contest against the charges while also questioning the methods of the Delhi Police and their conclusion skills in the case. Interestingly, the Police have also said that Sunanda Pushkar’s death was a suicide and not murder, like it was thought earlier.

Sunanda Pushkar, was an Indian businesswoman married to Shashi Tharoor for four years before her death on 17th January, 2014 under mysterious circumstances. The couple were staying in the hotel as their house was being renovated but on the day, when she did not wake from her sleep, Shashi Tharoor informed the Police. It was earlier concluded that she had been murdered after the domestic help alleged that the couple often fought and Sunanda had said she would disclose everything and he was finished.
