Sonam Kapoor created a splash at the Cannes Film Festival and yesterday attended the Gala dinner hosted by the Positive Planet Foundation that has led over 500 initiatives all over the world.
The star was the guest of honour at the gala event which also included a contemporary art auction by Simon De Pury. The proceeds of the auction will go towards Positive Planet's programs for women empowerment in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East & French priority neighbourhoods.
This year also marks the Foundation's 20th anniversary and Sonam Kapoor auctioned a dinner/lunch with the highest bidder. "Sonam has managed to bring to life colourful and unforgettable characters, all the while remaining an inspiring, engaged and positive personality herself. We are truly honored to have her as our guest of honor as we hope to meet our goal to alleviate female poverty," says Jacques Attali, President - Positive Planet Foundation.
While Sonam added, "Positive Planet Foundation has been doing some inspiring work for the last 20 years. I hope to lend my support in the way I best can and help them in their noble endeavors."
