India’s cricket team captain Virat Kohli is known to be quite an influencer among the young crowd but recently he was at the receiving end after a picture of him emerged online. The picture in question shows Virat standing on a stage to look as tall as Indian Tennis player Karman Kaur Thandi, as the photo has been cropped appropriately to hide the effort.
Many people across the internet have criticised Kohli and have commented say that in India, you can say anything but a woman can’t be taller than a man and that shows fragile ego. Another user mocked Virat saying he actually requires support to look taller than the six-foot athlete. However, the event which saw Virat, the brand ambassador for Tissot watches hand over the watches to India’s rising stars, saw many other sports sensations and Virat is said to have jokingly tried to match their height. It was only when Karman came on stage and people noticed the difference, that they took offence and now the picture has gone viral with people’s reactions.
Interestingly, all the athletes were also part of the Virat Kohli Foundation and saw the likes of Satnam Singh, Aadil Bedi, Jehan Daruwala, Pinky Rani and Manoj Kumar, among others.
