As actors, we are always lonely except when in the spotlight: Shahid Kapoor

Shahid said the audience only sees actors when they are in the spotlight but otherwise, actors are always lonely and they are on their own as the journey is personal.

Shahid Kapoor is busy doing a lot, especially after the success of Padmaavat and he is now preparing for his upcoming Bollywood film Batti Gul Meter Chalu. However, the actor did speak about how being an actor is a lonely journey than most people can imagine. He went on to add that actors have to also be able to adapt to survive as it is a very jumpy job, and channelling inner emotions to emote better is a part of the process. 

In an interview with a leading agency, Shahid said the audience only sees actors when they are in the spotlight but otherwise, actors are always lonely and they are on their own as the journey is personal. However, he said it is at such times that he believes something emotional happens which reflects in performances across various films. He went on to add that it is only then that he is completely honest with himself which helps him act better. 

Shahid Kapoor went on to add that if actors want to be really good, it takes time and also depends on one’s desire to achieve what he wants to, during the time. The Udta Punjab actor said that it is selfish but that is how actors are supposed to be, if they want to be successful as long as they are true to themselves.
