British actor Henry Cavill popularly known for his role as Superman is reportedly parting ways with the DC Universe after negotiations of a new deal between them fell apart. Cavill was first seen in the 2013 film Man Of Steel which was followed by Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016 and Justice League in 2017.

According to various media reports, Warner Bros. are reportedly the ones who moved away from Cavill because they couldn’t come to a common ground with the franchise. However, Warner Bros immediately released a statement saying that while the two have parted ways, their relationship continues to remain the same and they have great respect for him. Interestingly, the production house also revealed that they had no plans of any Superman films in the future. However many reports suggest that Warner Bros. is instead focusing on making Supergirl a household name, in an attempt to salvage its less popular superhero franchise after the increasing number of Marvel movies, in the recent years.

While Superman may not be on the cards, Henry Cavill is busy and will next be seen in a Netflix series which is an adaptation of The Witcher, in which he will play the Geralt of Rivia.
