In an unfortunate incident, US rapper Nipsey Hussle was shot dead in Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon by an unidentified assailant. The rapper was among the nominees for the Best Rap Album for his first formal album called Victory Lap in 2018, however, he lost to Cardi B,  female who turned out to be the female rapper of the year.

According to several reports, Nipsey was with two other friends when the attacker shot him twice, however, the other two survived with injuries, reported the Los Angeles police department spokesperson. While the shooter is still unidentified and not arrested, the incident came to light after Nipsey had earlier tweeted ‘having strong enemies is a blessing’. Being a part of the rap circuit for the longest time, the rapper hadn’t been able to make it big in the industry and was working on a rap album for several years, while releasing teasers to fans. However, he only released it last year and it was even nominated for the Grammys, showing a lot of promise.

Interestingly, it has also been reported that the 33-year-old rapper was spotted by rapper Jay Z on one such occasion when he was selling his mixtapes. Jay Z ended up buying the all the 100 tapes for 100 dollars each making it quite a happy day for the rapper in the initial struggling days of his career.
