Sonali Bendre is currently on a happy break from her ‘high degree cancer’ treatment. While she hosted a New Year’s party at her residence for close friends and family last night, her husband, Goldi Behl, threw a surprise bash to celebrate the actress’ birthday today.
He also wrote a heartfelt message for his wife on social media. He said, “Happy birthday Sonali ❤ They say your partner needs to be your best friend, your sounding board, your mirror, your strength, your inspiration. You have been all that and more to me.”
He also spoke about how last year was a tough phase for her (Sonali) yet she fought her way through. “2018 was a tough year on you but I am so proud of the dignity and courage with which you handled it. Not only did you help me find my own strength, but you imparted that to every soul who followed your life closely. It is never easy to be at the receiving end and yet be so positive and spread so much love.”
He ended the note by saying, “Thank you for being the person you are. On your special day, I wish you all things wonderful, all things love, all things that bring a cheer to you through the year. So #SwitchOnTheSunshine like you always do and make this year count #OneDayAtATime.”
The party was attended by Sussanne Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Naina Bachchan and other close friends.
Meanwhile, the Sarfarosh actor shared pictures of herself and wished for a “healthier and happier 2019”. Sonali was seen getting her final blow dry before a haircut in the photos. She captioned it: “Throwback to my last blow-dry before I cut my hair. Now that my hair is gradually growing back…. Maybe I can look forward to another blow-dry in 2019!”
Sonali returned from New York in December. Since July, she is being treated for metastatic cancer there.
