Swara Bhasker tweets about Hardik Pandya-KL Rahul controversy; says being crass is not a crime
Bollywood actor Swara Bhaskar is known to be quite vocal about trending issues and especially about women empowerment and feminism, among others. Recently, the actor tweeted about the controversy surrounding Indian cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul but has something quite different to say that most people.
The Veere Di Wedding actress said being crass is not really a crime and the Supreme Court should find something better to do. Her reaction comes after the Committee of Administrators (COA) requested the Apex Court to appoint a person to investigate the matter further. Immediately after the comments were made on Karan Johar’s Koffee With Karan Season 6, the duo faced a lot of backlash for their sexist comments. The BCCI immediately suspended them from the Australia ODI series and even the upcoming New Zealand series. Interestingly, the ban does not stop there as there are reports that they may be out of IPL 2019 and even the ICC Cricket World Cup later this year.
Swara Bhasker said she is a staunch feminist but the court should find something better to do than go after Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul for what they have said on the show. Interestingly, show host Karan Johar has kept quiet about the whole controversy ever since the cricketers came under fire for their comments on live television.
