Former Miss Universe and actor Sushmita Sen, who was in town yesterday to stop the show of fashion designer Ashish N Soni, which was a part of Blenders Pride Fashion Tour, won over the media and audience with her dazzling smile and warmth. In a very brief interaction with the media post event, sen, who looked sexy in a black three piece suit, spoke with Indulge about what makes her proud and what keeps her busy now. Excerpts:
How do you feel when you walk the ramp?
It's homecoming to me, it's my home turf. I started out as a professional model and any day, more than cinema, live reactions and interactions are more satisfying for me. So, since childhood, be it elocution competitions or sports events, I always cherished live responses and that continued on the ramp, too.
Many female actors including Anushka Sharma, Sonam Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone got married recently and their weeding dresses were much talked about. What would you like to wear on your wedding day?
That I will decide when the wedding takes place. Said that, for me the man whom I will be marrying is more important than the clothes that I will wear for my wedding.
What do you take pride in?
Everything, for me, pride is everything and not a separate aspect of what I do, it is who I am. I do everything in my life with pride and when I don't I feel pride in doing something I usually step back from doing it because it's not going to tantamount to celebration of self respect. For me that's really important. I can fail at multiple attempts in my life but I cant fail me.
How has your personal style changed in these years?
My style has changed with travelling and who I was becoming inside and that needed to be expressed through style.
Why are you not seen in movies nowadays?
A lot of great stuff is happenning but nothing meaningful is really coming my way, may be God has better plans for me, so let's wait and watch.
