National Award winning actor Pankaj Tripathi is one of those sought after actors by filmmakers who have been lining up to work with him because of his unmatched talent. Currently Pankaj is all geared up to shoot his next, the magnum opus '83 starring Ranveer Singh in lead role. The film is a real life story based on the historical Cricket World Cup win of team India in 1983 spearheaded by the captain Kapil Dev.

Pankaj plays the pivotal character of PR Man Singh in this multi-cast film. Man Singh headed the team India as the manager for the World Cup. Pankaj didn't want to leave any stones unturned to play such a pivotal role, so he flew down to Hyderabad to meet the real manager PR Man Singh ahead of the '83 shooting in London. "It was an amazing experience to meet PR Man Singh. He has an incredible love and passion towards the game of cricket even today. He is a very disciplined person. We spoke on various chapters of his personal and professional life. I also met his family members and they all stood firmly like pillars with Man Singh on his decisions. I visited his house and office and felt very positive with the hospitality. He has created a huge museum in his house in Hyderabad with cricketing memorabilia," said Pankaj.

Man Singh was a strong pillar of support for Kapil Dev and his squad in the 1983 World Cup. Pankaj wanted a narrative about the real story from the man himself. Both the reel and real managers spent a good amount of time speaking about the '83 match, it's trivia and the factual stories. Man Singh is also believed to have told Pankaj about the struggles in getting the team to World Cup and the journey of winning the first time. This narration teared up Pankaj and the entire conversation and experience helped him build his role which will be an ode to manager Man Singh. "I got emotional couple of times listening to his stories and life journey. His life is very inspiring for others, his passion and love towards cricket is simply amazing. As an actor I will try my sincere best to portray Man Singh with best of my abilities displaying his school of thoughts and I will try to justify this role by reflecting his ideology and faith onscreen for the game of cricket," offered Pankaj.
