Kolkata model Reeva Chaudhary who made her debut in Hindi television industry with Zee TV’s latest series Humari Bahu Silk wears her heart on her sleeves. Ecstatic about her role as Natasha the model turned actor poured her heart out in a candid conversation with Indulge during the promotions of her series in the city. Excerpts:

What convinced you say yes to Humati Bahu Silk?

I always wanted to act in movies and my mom wanted me to act in serials. Finally, it’s happening and it’s sad that she is no more in my life. I realised a film will end in three hours but a serial will stay with people weeks after weeks. I never wanted to do a typical tear-jerker saas bahu role so I am glad that I am part of Zee’s new series which questions the judgmental attitude of the society.

What is it about Natasha that you love?

What I loved about Natasha is that she is fearless. She doesn’t care about what people think or say. She is very transparent. Though she is angry and frustrated because her career is not taking off well due to her hoarse voice but you will see different shades of the character later. And once you get to know Natasha more, you will love her too.

How much do you identify with the character?

At some level, I do identify with her but we are very different as a person. Natasha wears short dresses and she doesn’t care about what people will think when she is doing sensuous scenes. I am totally like her in this matter. One should be comfortable in his/her skin and wear whatever you want. Also, you cannot judge people because of the kind of job they do.

I differ with Natasha in many aspects. First, I am a very soft-spoken woman, while Natasha is always rude. Second, when she is angry she breaks things and doesn’t shy away from humiliating people. I cannot think of doing anything like that.

What is it about Kolkata that you miss the most?

I miss the food the most. I miss my rosogolla, mishit doi and maach
