After seven decades of a protracted legal battle, the Supreme Court on Saturday pronounced the judgment in Ayodhya case. The court ordered the Central Government to formulate a scheme for setting up of a trust and hand them over the disputed site for the construction of the temple. It also said that a suitable alternative plot of land measuring five acres at Ayodhya will be given to Sunni Wakf Board. Soon after the verdict, reactions came out.

While some celebrated the verdict, most requested people to accept it while urging them to maintain peace.

Here's how everybody reacted:

“We all need to heal together and move on from this as one nation,” tweeted Huma Qureshi.

Playback singer and Member of Parliament from Asansol, Babul Supriyo requested everyone in Asansol to maintain complete peace.

Author Chetan Bhagat thanked the Muslim community for "their grace and generosity" and the Hindu community for their patience.

Celebrating the verdict, filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar called it "fair".
