Wanted to explore villain inside me with 'Omerta', says Rajkummar Rao

The actor said that it is the possibility of exploring the role that excites him, like other actors in the past and the present.

Rajkummar Rao has dazzled the industry with his brilliant performances time and again in all his movies and he seems to get better with every movie he does, undoubtedly.The actor, however, recently spoke about his upcoming movie 'Omerta' and has given audience clear insight into his role in the movie. 

Rao, who will be seen in a negative role, said that he wanted to explore his villainous side with the film, in which he plays a dark character, that of a terrorist Omar Saeed Sheikh. The actor went on to add that it is the possibility of exploring the role that excites him, like other actors in the past and the present. 

Rajkummar Rao shot to fame with his portrayal of Shahid Azmi in the biographical drama Shahid, for which, he also went on to win a national award. 

The movie 'Omerta' which means silence among two people in gangster terms, explores the 1994 kidnappings of Westerners in India.The character Omar is arrested and serves time in prison for the plotting of murder of Wall Street journalist Daniel Pearl in 2002.

The movie is scheduled to release on April 20.
