While fans across the country were set to watch Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmaavat on January 25, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s epic historical film surprised its fans by releasing on January 24 in selected cinemas across the nation.
The makers of the film had confirmed the latest progress on the official handle of the film on Twitter.
The film that was released on Wednesday was only in 3D and IMAX 3D formats, targeting only a limited audience with limited paid previews on the premiere night.
Nonetheless, Padmaavat will release across the globe on January 25 in all formats, from 2D to IMAX 3D. With so much going around the release of the film, the makers are also providing a paid screening to a selected batch of fans to deliver the magnum opus in 3D canvas to add word of mouth to the film’s publicity.
