“Driven by an urge to contribute to the industry, we have been trying to promote good cinema since last year, apart from our own. Therefore, we produced Anindya Chatterjee’s Projapoti Biscuit that gifted the industry a talented actor Isha,” says Mukherjee, who plans to introduce at least five new talented actors and filmmakers in the next five years.

Mukherjee has also postponed the release of his own film Konttho to make way for Manojder Adbhut Bari during the pujas in October. The film is based on writer novelist Sirshendu Mukherjee’s much acclaimed story by the same title.

Directed by singer and filmmaker Anindya Chatterjee, Manojder Adbhut Bari will be the only family movie to release this festive season, on October 12. The other movies including Srijit Mukherji’s Ek Je Chilo Raja, Kaushik Ganguly’s Kishore Kumar JuniorHoichoi Unlimited and Byomkesh Gotro are not movies for children.

“As a producer, it’s my duty to ensure that the directors who are working with us get the best possible release dates to showcase their films. What could be better than the Pujas to release a film like Manojder Adbhut Bari, since you don’t have to leave your kids back to watch this film,” adds Mukherjee.

The film will see Soham Moitra, who acted in Chaplin, playing the role of Manoj and singer Srikanto Acharya’s son, Purab Seal Acharya, will play Saroj. Besides, there will be Abir Chatterjee, Soumitra Chatterjee and Sandhya Roy in key roles.

Singer Shilajit has composed the music for this film.
