The superhero – Spider-Man made his debut around five decades ago and has been played by various actors ever since, but the one fact that has stayed constant is the characterization of Peter Parker. With the release of each movie, majority of the DNA of the friendly neighbourhood Spiderman appears to remain intact, but there are certain aspects in the series that have evolved over time.
1. He is not the only superhero in town
There were times when Spiderman fought a lot of bad guys in the past, but in this movie Iron Man aka Tony Stark remains actively involved in Peter’s life as a mentor
2. He sticks to his role of being a kid in school
When Spider-Man released in 2002, Tobey Maguire was 27, when The Amazing Spider-Man released, Andrew Garfield was 29. Tom Holland in Spider-Man: Homecoming plays the role of a school going 15-year-old kid who is given superpowers.
3. Diversity at its best
Unlike the other cast members of the previous movies, Spider-Man: Homecoming saw a focus on a diverse cast. Peter’s best friend Ned is played by Filipino-American actor Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier as Liz Allen, Tony Revolori as Flash Thompson, and Zendaya as Michelle
4. He is a superhero who is still learning the various tricks of the trade
While the characters of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield saw their role develop quickly and evolve into full-fledged superheroes, Homecoming doesn’t retell Spidey’s origin, but instead focusses on Tom Holland’s character, who is still trying to figure out how best he can use his powers
5. He gets some cool upgrades
In Spider Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man gets his iconic costume from Tony Stark rather than designing it himself. This version of the suit is full of new upgrades and gadgets, that Peter has never used on screen before
