Will-Smith starring live-action film, Aladdin's trailer is out! 

The film stars Mena Massoud as Aladdin, the unfortunate but loveable street rat who is smitten by  Sultan’s daughter, Jasmine. Naomi Scott, of Power Rangers fame, will be playing Jasmine.

A remake of the much celebrated 1992 animated film Aladdin is set to hit the theatres in May 2019. Two days after Will Smith who is confirmed to be playing the Genie in this upcoming live-action film unveiled its first look on Instagram,Walt Disney Studios surprised us with a magnificent trailer. The trailer begins by showing us the fictional city of Agrabah where the story unfolds and slowly shifts to the legendary Cave of wonders that traps Aladdin inside and shreds instantly. A gnarling voice from the background says “one may enter here.. one whose worth lies far within.. the diamond in the rough”. The ending flashes the lead actor Mena Massoud playing Aladdin picking up the famous lamp leaving the fans super excited.

The Power Rangers fame Naomi Scott will be playing Jasmine, whose character is anticipated to be much different from the Jasmine we have known and accepted. Marwan Kenzari as the evil wizard, Jafar and Navid Negahban as Sultan, the ruler of Agrabah. However, hitherto there’s no mention of the much-cherished capuchin monkey- Abu, who is Aladdin’s best friend.

The 1992 animated film has won two Academy Awards, including Best Original Score and Best Original Song for “A Whole New World”. Nonetheless, this upcoming romantic fantasy film directed by Guy Ritchie set higher expectations.
