Rajkummar Rao, Freida Pinto-starrer Love Sonia to be screened at United Nations

The film which dives deeper into the global issue of human trafficking will be screened on the occasion of International Day of the Girl Child on October 11 in New York.

Indian film Love Sonia which released on 14 September has received quite a lot of praise for the storyline as well as the subject, and it has now been announced that it will be screened at the United Nations. The film which dives deeper into the global issue of human trafficking will be screened on the occasion of International Day of the Girl Child on October 11 in New York. 

The announcement was made on Twitter by a popular film critic and interestingly, this will be the first time that the film will be screened in the US. For the UN, it will be screened as a part of the Drugs and Crime and Indian anti-trafficking organization, Apne Aap Women Worldwide. While the film has been screened at various other locations, it also was the opening film at International Film Festival of Melbourne, where it was also awarded the best Indie film.  

Love Sonia is a film directed by Tabrez Noorani and has an ensemble cast of Manoj Bajpayee, Freida Pinto, Richa Chadha, Mrunal Thakur, Rajkummar Rao, Adil Hussain, Anupam Kher, Demi Moore, Mark Duplass among others.
