Kollywood actor Ilayathalapathy Vijay's Thalapathy 64 locks release date in April 2020

Ilayathalapathy Vijay was last seen in the recently released hit film Bigil. Previously we had reported his next project tentatively titled Thalapathy 64 will be directed by filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj of Maanagaram fame.

The director's latest outing was with Kaidhi starring Karthi in the lead role which clashed directly with Vijay's Bigil for Diwali last week. The film will be the first collaboration between director and Ilayathalapathy. Also, Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi will be playing a pivotal role. 

The film went on floors on October 3 along and the latest update is that the film which is currently in its pre-production phase is expected to hit the screens on April 9 2020. The film will showcase the Thalapathy in an entirely new avatar.

Xavier Britto will be bankrolling this film under the banner XB Film Creators. His daughter Sneha Britto who had made her directorial debut through the film Sattam Oru Iruttarai 2 in 2012 is also reported to be part of Thalapathy 64's directorial team.

Anirudh Ravichander is roped in to compose music for the film while Vivek have penned down the lyrics. Sathyan Sooryan will be cranking the camera and Philomin Raj will handle the editing respectively. 

Malavika Mohanan and Andrea Jeremiah will be playing the female leads along with Antony Varghese, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, Gouri Kishan and many others.
