If music be the food of love, play on – and that was exactly the mood of Hyderabadis this week. To begin with, Thaikkudam Bridge, the Kochi fusion band, got the city swaying to their numbers at Hard Rock Cafe, on Friday. The highlight of the evening was their special set they played from their upcoming album, Namah. On Saturday, city-based Kash Theatres staged their latest original play, Pardon. The one-act play, based on the lives of three prisoners who are being executed for crimes they did not commit, ended with a standing ovation from a packed audience.

Sunday saw fashionista and socialite Ananya Simlai’s birthday at Kismet, The Park. The dress code for the evening was gowns and guests were seen in flared, straight, maxi, statement gown and more with interesting variations. The birthday girl was dressed in a white and blue flared gown. I liked Manisha Kapur’s black Diesel dress, which she elegantly paired with a pearl choker – it was so apt for the night.

Apart from Manisha, her old pals Kamini Saraf, Archie Paranji, Neeru Mohan and Namitha Singhvee were also present for the party. Her husband Anirban Simlai also joined the girls as they cut the cake.

At the food and beverage counter, it was the mango drinks and milkshakes, served in milk glass bottles, that attracted the crowd. The guests polished off the birthday cake topped with plenty of heart candies and chocolate glaze before breaking into an impromptu dance.
