HBO reveals what to expect in Game of Thrones' prequel after Season 8
Fans across the world can rejoice as HBO has ordered a pilot of a related series to the popular television series Game Of Thrones after the Season 8 finale airs in 2019. The new pilot will be a prequel depicting the story more than thousand years before the Game of Thrones.
According to media reports, the prequel will be created by author George R.R. Martin and screenwriter Jane Goldman and will be set way back in Westeros' history. The show will chronicle the world's descent from the golden age of heroes to its darkest hour, according to HBO. The production house said that only one thing is for sure that from the horrifying secrets of Westeros' history to the true origin of the White Walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend...it's not the story that all of the fans think they know.
The announcement comes as a happy addition to the fans of the television series after it became a global phenomenon with the release of the first season in 2010. HBO had earlier revealed that they had planned to produce the prequel and were considering five possibilities to what it might be. The show also helped launch many of the actors including Emilia Clarke, Kit Harington, Maisie Williams, Sophie Turner, Lena Headey, Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Iwan Rheon and Iain Glen among others.
