Loki spin-off: Tom Hiddleston to reprise his Marvel character for Disney’s new streaming platform
While it’s still not certain whether or not Tom Hiddleston’s Loki will be alive in Marvel’s upcoming movie Avengers 4, news has it that the character is getting a standalone series for itself. According to reports, Tom is set to star in the spin-off series that is based on the God of Mischief.
Disney confirmed the series for the Avengers anti-hero with Hiddleston himself reprising the role for its new streaming video service.
The press release from Disney read: “Disney is assembling a live-action series centered around a fan-favorite character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. (Bob) Iger today confirmed that Marvel Studios is developing a series based on Loki, the god of mischief, to star Tom Hiddleston.”
Hiddleston, who was last seen as Loki in Avengers: Infinity War, also took to Twitter to confirm the news.
He posted: “Loki. More stories to tell. More mischief to make. More to come.”
Earlier in September, Disney had hinted that they are developing standalone shows on popular Marvel characters Loki and Scarlett Witch for its new streaming video service.
