Radhika Apte nominated for an Emmy; Sacred Games, Lust Stories, The Remix other Indian nominees

The International Emmy Awards 2019 nominations were announced yesterday and Indian fans have much to rejoice. Three Indian original shows have been nominated in various categories, including a nomination for Best Performance by an Actress for Radhika Apte.

Radhika Apte has been nominated in the Best Actress category in the International Emmy Awards 2019 for her work in Netflix's Lust Stories. The series, an anthology of four short films, one each directed Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee, Anurag Kashyap and Karan Johar, received a nomination for Best TV movie/miniseries category too.

Interestingly, another show the actor was part of, Netflix's Sacred Games (Season 1) has also been nominated under the Best Drama Series category.  The fourth nomination came in for The Remix, an Amazon Prime Video production, for the International Emmy for Non-Scripted Entertainment.

While Sacred Games is competing with Bad Banks (Germany), McMafia (UK) and 1 Contra Todos (Brazil), Lust Stories has been nominated alongside Se Eu Fechar Os Olhos Agora(Brazil)  Safe Harbour (Australia) and Trezor (Hungary). Radhika Apte's fellow nominees include Jenna Coleman for The Cry (UK), Marjorie Estiano for Sob Pressão Season 2 (Brazil), and Marina Gera for Orok Tel (Hungary).

The Remix will be competing with La Voz (The Voice – Season 2) (Argentina), Taboo (Belgium); The Real Full Monty: Ladies Night (UK).

The Emmys will take place at the Hilton New York Hotel on November 25, 2019.
