Tanvi Chowdhri, the founder of Papacream, studied in the US and then worked on Wall Street, but it was her love of all things culinary that made her start this venture. “With Papacream, we wanted to create an experience with flavours that were familiar to the masses, yet unique,” she tells us. “Even our name reflects our homely and friendly attitude,” she adds.

Their pastel-themed cafe-style ice cream parlour in JP Nagar is welcoming with its warm and comforting fragrances. After a sip of their Peach Iced Tea, we dived into the desserts. From their Classic Ice Creams
section, we tried the Fresh Orange Ice Cream and the Virgin Mojito Sorbet. While orange sorbet is nothing out of the ordinary, the former, topped with chunks of fresh orange, and boasting a creamy texture was a bit of a novelty. The Mojito was a light and refreshing sorbet and worked well as a palate cleanser too.
Next, we sampled their Premium Ice Creams. As the name promised, they were rich and decadent. Our favourite was the Horlicks with Nutella Pancakes Ice Cream — rolled up pancakes, served with their Horlicks ice cream creation and Nutella sauce. Other options are Ferrero Crunch and Bubblegum Candyfloss.

One of their signature creations is the Donut Ice Cream Sundae. This donut sandwich is stuffed with Oreo crumbs, Belgian chocolate ice cream, Froot Loops, whipped cream and more. Quite a mouthful, this one is better when shared. With its unique sundaes, friendly staff and great location, Papacream sets itself apart from the numerous other ice cream joints in the vicinity.

Rs. 350 for two. At JP Nagar and Harlur Road
