Ladies Circle 46 and Round Table India honoured the sheroes of Kolkata Police

They seem like any other ordinary women but their extraordinary talent lies in their selfless attitude, commitment towards their duty to keep the city safe and secure and the determination to fight all odds. We are talking about the women task force of the Kolkata Police who were honoured for their service at Knights in Khaki. The event organised by Ladies Circle 26 and Round Table India saw 15 policewomen from the rank of constable to assistant police inspector and others being felicitated at The Lalit Great Eastern. 

The 15 awardees included Rupa Adhikary, Lady Assistant Sub-Inspector 245 who was awarded for assisting AHTU DD to conduct raids in various parts of the city and keeping tracks of missing children, Mamata Ghosh, Lady Assistant Sub-Inspector who was appreciated for collecting intelligence reports; Shrabanti Ghosh Lady Sub-Inspector who plays vital role in arresting criminals, Rehna Khatoon an officer of Ekbalpore police station port division who has investigated POSCO and other crime related to women and many more. Commenting on the event Namrata Shenoy, National President Ladies Circle India says, “This is our flagship event and it has grown each year. The commitment of the lady officers is commendable and we want to honour them with a tone of appreciation from our side. They deserve a lot more for keeping us all safe in the city and for doing their duty diligently.”

Present also on the occasion was actor Mumtaz Sorcar and Nilanjana Chakraborty. The Bhooter Bhabishyat actor the officers and pledged to do her bit to make the city a better place. 
Joint commissioner (organisation) Neeloo Sherpa Chakraborty who was also present at the occasion hailed her womenfolk’s commitment towards their duty and urged the house to play their part and not spread rumours on social media and contribute in maintaining the peace in the city.
