Back to block: Punit Balana’s upcoming collection is for the free-spirited woman
Jaipur-based designer, Punit Balana, is soon coming up with a new collection, titled Malang Rouh.
Jaipur-based designer, Punit Balana, who aspires to fuse traditional aesthetics with modern silhouettes, is soon coming up with a new collection, titled Malang Rouh. “This Winter/Festive 2017 collection that will be launched in Hyderabad by mid-July is inspired by free-spirited women. They set the trend rather than following it,” says the designer who has recently dressed celebrities like Kriti Sanon, Vidya Balan and Kritika Singh.
This easy-to-wear prêt-â-porter line uses breathable fabrics and the cuts make them immensely wearable. Recently, actress Ritika Singh picked an outfit from this upcoming line for her appearance on the Telugu talk show, Konchem Touch Lo Unte Chepta. The highlight of the collection is pigment block printing. The ensembles in this collection come in two base colours – grey and mustard. Block printing is done on them in shades of green and red respectively.
The fabrics used are a mix of Chanderi and chiffon. “For this line, we have come up with lehengas cut to the ankle, which we call chotu lehengas. They can be paired with loose-fitting crop tops,” informs Punit. Apart from that, buyers can also opt for flare-bottomed tube tops, a whole lot of floor-length gowns and cocktail dresses with asymmetrical hemlines.
The winter/festive line will be available at two Banjara Hills-based boutiques, Angasutra and Manomay, July 15 onwards. However, before that, Hyderabadis can catch a sneak peek of his latest collection at the Fashion Yatra exhibition which will be held on July 8 at Taj Krishna.
Price: Rs. 12, 500 onwards
