Ahoy adventurous dressers! Check out the latest from brand Atreyie
Layers of frills and flared-bottoms with a burst of pop colours best describe the New Delhi-based label Atreyie. Launched a few months ago, this luxury prêt label, which caters to adventurous dressers, recently unveiled their new collection online, Atrangii. One glimpse at the look book and you know that dramatic silhouettes are crafted in such a way that you stand out rather than fit in, like their Opera Chic top.
The label is owned by sisters Shweta Tanwar Mukherjee, 30, and Shivangi Tanwar, 24. The former, who is the co-founder of the brand says, “We wanted to escape from ordinary fashion and create outfits with strong characteristics that are fearless and edgy.” Incidentally, she was pregnant when she started work on this label. “With a baby in the womb and a baby in mind, it was the most exciting yet challenging phase of my life,” she adds with a smile.
All shades of dramatic
Their latest collection, Atrangii, which is now available on their website, is vibrant from the word go. “We have combined classical material elements and challenging designs,” says Shivangi, the creative director. For instance, they have stuck to fabrics like silk, jute and cotton but the cuts are dramatic.“The flower patterns on ensembles are designed in such a way that they give a sense of t-rompe-l’œil (a technique that creates optical illusion),” she adds. The collection comprises tops, twin sets and dresses. Interestingly, the Tanwar sisters have dressed British actress India De Beaufort, who starred in American soaps such as How I Met Your Mother and One Tree Hill. Talk about designs without boundaries!
