Fancy a detox shower? Try the natural bath gels and shampoos from Vanah
Bathing is an experience, not a chore. It is to skin what meditation is to the heart, says Ayurveda. Taking a leaf out of the ancient texts is the Vanah brand of luxury soaps and salts, which is all about relishing the bath in its true sense. Saiba Ismail, a lawyer-turned-entrepreneur from Hyderabad, who started the brand in January, says, “Our skin and hair are as unique as we are. We don’t believe in the ‘one-soap-fits-all’ concept. So we customise our shower gels, soaps, fragrances etc. If you like sandalwood mixed with chamomile, we make it that way,” explains Saiba. Currently, she stocks the products at home and advertises through the brand’s Facebook page. They can customise the product for orders above 1 kg (bath salts, gels etc) and deliver across the country.
Saiba, 19, works with 40 underprivileged destitute women from Marg Foundation in the city to produce this bath range. “This helps me empower them by providing employment to them and of course, bring back nature into our soapboxes.” The aromatic plants and herbs used for this natural range are sourced from farmers who work with Central Institute of Aromatic and Medicinal Plants in Hyderabad.
Vanah’s Green Tea Anti-oxidant detox bath salt, says Saiba, is their best bet. “This bath encourages the body to flush out toxins. The bath can be pretty intense and we suggest you drink two litres of water and after soaking yourself for 20 minutes in the bath tub, rest for 10 minutes to get back to work.” Their range also includes the essential oil blends, salt bars, massage butter, kits (under labels of romance,
sleep, aphrodisiac etc).
