Australian beauty brand Klara Cosmetics is now in India
Melbourne-based Klara Sabotkoski, who’d been in the beauty industry for close to two deca-des, always felt there was a need for lip colours that didn’t look ‘flat’ and ‘unnatural.’ So after four years of research, experimentation and perfecting her techniques, she launched Klara Cosmetics in 2013. “Our cosmetics are made with 100 per cent colour pigmentation. This means that pigments are used in their highest possible concentration, creating flawless coverage and an unrivalled, high voltage impact,” says Klara, who brings her brand to India for the first time through beauty retail chain, Sephora. In addition to lip colours, Klara’s other products include eye shadows, foundations, concealers, beauty tools, bronzers and highlighters. She tells us more in an exclusive exchange:
Tell us about how it all began.
After years of working with cosmetics and listening to customers talk about how disappointed they were with the products they were buying, I decided to launch my own line of colour cosmetics and skincare. Our products sold out within the first week with makeup gurus and beauty connoisseurs addicted to the on-trend palettes and high performance products.
What are the benefits of 100 per cent pigmentation?
Most brands require you to apply the product several times to achieve the desired coverage. Klara’s concentrated pigments give you an intense and long-lasting result, with the smallest quantity.
What are some of your bestsellers?
Our Kiss Proof Lipsticks are one of our bestselling products. It is a 24-hour long-lasting lipstick that does not smudge, transfer or fade. It is available in a stunning range of tones from classic nudes to the hottest head-turning colours. Another one is our 8-in-1 Mineral Found-ation CC Cream. Its smooth and lightweight texture blends seamlessly into the skin with a look that’s almost undetectable.

What are some of the biggest trends in the beauty industry at the moment?
Glowing highlighters — especially golden highlighters — are all the rage right now. Our newest product, Gold Glow drops allows you to achieve a sun-kissed complexion by blending seamlessly with your foundation and leaving an intense shimmer on the skin. We hope to launch this product in Sephora very soon! Stay tuned.
