Picture this. Creamy and decadent looking cupcakes, with a generous swirl of frosting in pastel pink. Perhaps a cream and cranberry mix, a caramel whip or even a sinful cherry pie catches your attention. Oddly, we aren’t talking about desserts! We are in fact talking about luxurious bath melts, soaps and lotions that are a 100 per cent vegan!  Careful not to place these on your kitchen counters, lest you be tempted and get a mouth full of foam. It was after realising that people’s love for bath and body products go beyond the usual, that New Delhi-based entrepreneur, Sambhavna Vasant decided to start Bath It Up, an e-commerce website, where she curates bath and body products from across the world.

“The brands abroad have recognised the potential of the Indian market and are now even willing to expand their business here,” says Sambhavna. They have now launched two UK-based international vegan beauty brands in India — Rose & Co, inspired by roses alongside Patisserie De Bain, its sister brand, that comes with a fun collection inspired by Parisien delights like pastries and cupcakes.

Scents and roses
Started in 1987, Rose & Co was started by mother-daughter duo, Patricia and Caroline Rose after they restored an old Victorian chemist shop in West Yorkshire, Haworth. Packaged in vintage style, their collection includes bath soaks, hand creams, hand and body lotions, bath melts and more.

Talking about their unique flavours, Caroline says, “Our soaps have perfect botanical scents, inspired by the Victorian era and our vintage floral bath melts are created to channel the scents of an English country garden that has roses, hyacinth, and carnation flowers.” Caroline adds that their top selling product is the Rose Petal Salve, a multi-use beauty balm that comes with a scent of rose.

Flavoured goodness
Taking inspiration from colourful French patisseries and retro designs,  Patisserie de Bain, which started in 2007, has bath products that look so good, you almost want to devour them.  Their collections include scents like Strawberry Cupcake, Orange Crush, Sweet As Cherry Pie, Lemon Bon Bon, Cranberries and Cream, Creme Patisserie, Caramel Whip and so many more! Their unique offering of bath tartlettes with a shea butter topping and mini bath bombs that fizz away releasing scents are huge hits.
