Lifestyle stores abound in Kolkata, with almost all of them claiming to deliver something unique. But what really sets apart Coral Fashion Concept Store, perched in a nook called Lovelock Street, off Ballygunge Circular Road, is its proprietor Vibha Kejriwal. The imperturbable woman, who has been practising spirituality for the past 20 years, makes it a point to try out each and every product personally, before curating it for display at her vintage store.
She is the first customer she has to satisfy, Kejriwal claims. “In my store, I only keep those products that convince me as a customer. Quality is the most important aspect when I select something to be displayed. We put together the finest collections with global sensibility,” stresses Kejriwal, who has showcased the works of many an European and Indian designer at her store.
And this time, the three-year-old store has something unique to offer to its loyal clientele. They have launched a cool Yoga wear collection for women. The entire collection is made of pure organic cotton, which helps your skin breathe even while you are sweating it out. “Manufactured by renowned organic brand, Soul Space, these Yoga wears are comfortable and stylish at the same time. You can wear them while practising Yoga, going for a brief walk, or even running. Any light format exercise can be done wearing these clothes,” avers Kejriwal.
There are three kinds of sportswear available, the Essential wear, Studio, which is designer sportswear and Athleisure, which is comfort clothing. The entire collection is extremely affordable with prices between Rs 500 and Rs 1,500. “We could keep the prices affordable since we are an export house with our own factory and there are no embroidery works in the collection. We never dupe a customer in terms of quality and hence we have also kept our margins very low,” informs Amit Kandhari, CEO of Soul Space, an organic and fair trade company.
Besides organic sportswear, Kejriwal has also brought to Kolkata Shankara Naturals, a US-based brand manufacturing 100 per cent natural and Ayurvedic range of skincare products. Inspired by and named after spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, the USP of these products is that even the preservatives used are also completely natural, such as, aspen bark extracts and essential oils.
“Our products work on physical, mental and emotional levels, promoting a sense of well-being. This is our first shop-in-shop experience at Coral Concept Store in Kolkata. We manufacture the products in small batches, to ensure that highest quality is maintained,” tells Astha Katpitia, head, Shankara India. All their products are free from parabens, sulphates and synthetic chemicals and pH balanced and PETA friendly.
The products on offer include exfoliators, cleansers, moisturisers, anti-ageing serums and hair oils. Prices are between Rs 1,050 and Rs 3,800.
